The Genetic Foundation of Tehran was officially opened. . .

Genetic Foundation of Tehran is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the understanding of human genetic diseases in general population, providing genetic counseling, and also genetic diagnosis for affected people and their families. Its main office is in Tehran, Iran.

In winter of 2012, the decision was taken by the board of the Iranian Genetics Society (founded in 1960) to establish the Genetic Foundation of Iran. Dr Frouzandeh Mahjoubi (the Head of the Human Genetic association of the Iranian Genetics Society) was assigned by the board for the follow up and establishment of the Genetic Foundation of Iran. 
The permission for the establishment of the Genetic Foundation of Iran was granted by the State Welfare Organization of Tehran, Iran. However, due to the regulation the name was changed to the Genetic Foundation of Tehran.
Founder members of Genetic Foundation of Tehran are Dr Frouzandeh Mahjoubi (academic member of National Institute of Genetic Engimeering and Biotechnology), Dr Sirous Zainal ( Academic member of Pasture Institute), Dr Tavalaee (academic member of Bagiatollah ), Dr Mohktar Jalali (academic member of Tarbiat Modares University), and Dr Fazlollah Afraz (academic member of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad) .
